Driver, Passenger Killed In Single-Vehicle Long Island Expressway Crash

A box truck was traveling eastbound on the roadway near Exit 36, between New Hyde Park Road and Searingtown Road, in North Hills, just after 5 a.m. Monday, April 5 when it left the roadway and struck the overpass for Shelter Rock Road, Nassau County Police said.

The driver and sole passenger of the box truck, both men, were pronounced deceased at the scene by a Nassau County Police Medic.

 The investigation is ongoing.

Detectives request anyone that may have witnessed the accident to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call the Homicide Squad at 516-573-7788. All callers will remain anonymous.
